Services
I offer a range of therapeutic support for children, young people and families facing a range of different concerns; loss, grief, behavioural concerns, children in care, children with a parent in prison, asylum seeking and refugee children, anxiety, attachment difficulties, attention difficulties, bullying, exploitation, domestic abuse, friendship difficulties, neglect, separation/ divorce, sleep difficulties, trauma, self-harm, sexual abuse, withdrawn or young carers.

Individual
Play Therapy
Individual Play Therapy sessions offer a non-directive, child-led, creative and safe space where children can express themselves and work through difficulties or worries using their natural language; play. Play Therapy uses a variety of play and creative materials to alleviate chronic, mild and moderate psychological and emotional conditions which may be presenting as behavioural concerns or may be preventing the child from reaching their full potential. Expressing themselves through play can feel safe and less intense for children and allows them to process emotions and develop a better understanding of themselves.

Group
Play Therapy
Group Play Therapy brings together up to five children / young people who share similar experiences; eg low self-esteem or loss of a loved one. The sessions are led by Play Therapist but based on the creation of therapeutic relationships within the group; responding to both individual and group needs. The Play Therapist will offer specifically chosen structured activities and direction into the sessions but the group will process their experiences, thoughts and feelings together whilst the therapist provides them with a safe space to do so.

Creative
Arts Therapy
Creative Arts Therapy follows the same principles as Play Therapy; non-directed and led by the young person but is aimed at pre-teens and teenagers. Creative Arts Therapy offers the young person the opportunity to have a safe, therapeutic space to express themselves and explore their feelings and experiences through drawing, painting, music and drama. As well as collage, vision boards, beads, bracelets and clay. As with play therapy, there is no requirement for the young person to talk about feelings or to use their words; the creative process allows them to have a safe medium to explore their inner thoughts and feelings to allow for growth, healing and independence.

Reflective
Supervision
Working directly with children can be incredibly rewarding, fulfilling and fun! But it can also be stressful, complex and emotionally challenging. Reflective Supervision provides professionals with opportunity to reflect on their practise, build on knowledge and explore their thoughts, feelings and assumptions in order to foster self-awareness and critical thinking.
I am a Play Therapist so these sessions are done creatively in order to help us to 'think outside the box' and consider the bigger picture when we feel overwhelmed.
Parenting
Support
Equally, parenting is amazing and wonderful and then it's hard and exhausting. It's rewarding and fulfilling and then back to difficult and draining. Then when it's neither, it's mundane and ordinary!! And sometimes, we just need a safe space and moment to reflect on this and consider our parenting journey. Or space to think about our child's emotions and behaviours. This support can also strengthen the therapeutic process for the child and empowers parents to understand their child's journey.
